The municipality of “Amancio” celebrates World Health Day with the commitment to continue raising the quality and excellence of health care services.

“Amancio,” Las Tunas.- Dr. Ariel Guevara Bringas, director of Health in the southernmost of Las Tunas municipalities, commented that they arrive on this date without COVID-19 outbreaks, nor suspected or confirmed cases of the disease.

He specified that among the positives for the new coronavirus, there have been no pediatric patients, pregnant women, or older adults, and none have been among the serious or critical groups.

In this sense, he highlighted the tireless efforts of the health authorities to minimize the impact of the complex epidemiological situation on the local population. He also confirmed that, in the first quarter of the year, the infant and maternal mortality rate remained at zero, the low birth weight indicator decreased, although the birth rate continues to decline.

Another important result is compliance with the Vaccination, Cytology, Sexually Transmitted Infections, and Rehabilitation programs, among others.

Guevara Bringas recognized the constancy of the community projection of the specialists of the Provincial Hospital in the municipality, as well as the sustainability of the routes of the basic workgroups in the areas of difficult access.

Likewise, he mentioned the high rate of survival in serious care, due to the great professionalism of the staff who work there and the strict compliance with the protocols.

Despite the difficult epidemiological situation facing the country, he affirmed that strategies are being adopted to guarantee resources and medicines to patients who require them in hospital wards. And he referred to the reorganization of Emergencies, which allows greater resolution and the satisfaction of the residents.

They are currently working on a plan to maintain Health services based on intersectoral work, which will contribute to the quality of life of those who reside here.
