Las Tunas, Cuba.- "Intense debates are taking place in our institution, which aim to look inwardly and that this conclave multiply reasons and guide the path to train more competent and integral professionals, guarantors of local development and the future of the Cuban nation, " Ketty de la Caridad Rojas León, president of the organization in that House of Higher Studies, told 26Digital.
Five work commissions met on Tuesday morning and the final plenary session is convened for Wednesday.
The program of the event also included a parade to the José Martí Plaza in this city, a meeting with infants living in the Housing for Children without Family Protection, a voluntary work in the construction works at Las Palmeras Theme Park and an meeting with training organizations in the territory.
The assembly is the last step of the process initiated last March, before the national sessions of the event, scheduled for next July. From the brigade meetings, it included various actions aimed at highlighting the role of young people in the continuity of the Revolution and the improvement of the socialist system.
Rojas León said that Edismar Fernández Matías, student of the third year of the career of Physical Culture at the University of Las Tunas, is one of the 95 direct delegates selected throughout the country to attend the meeting, representing this province along with seven others who will be elected this Wednesday, June 6.
The University of Medical Sciences also inaugurated its 9th Congress yesterday. The final session will take place on Wednesday afternoon; thus the assembly process will conclude in the province.
