Las Tunas, Cuba.- This were Omar Rivera Carbó's statements minutes before receiving the promotion to major in recognition of his dedication in the work of safeguarding the revolutionary achievements. Like him, other Minint combatants deserved the promotion to the next higher grade during the celebration of the 57th anniversary of its foundation."In these ranks I have grown as a human being and I spur on the legacy of those who were before me. We are committed to excel in all aspects, both moral and scientific. The world is changing rapidly and there will be increasingly more people who try to break the law in the most innovative ways."
"So we will be there, more prepared to anticipate and act in correspondence. We will always do whatever is needed to preserve citizen tranquility, the State security and the internal order," he said.
A group of combatants, who with their behavior and dedication prestige this armed organization, were also decorated with distinctions for 10, 15 and 20 years of service on the occasion of the new anniversary.
The ceremony was attended by members of the headquarters, of the Ministry of the Interior and the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR); as well as representatives of the Cuban Communist Party, the Government, and social organizations.
In its 57 years of existence, this institution has remained beside the people in different epics of heroism and resistance, and this linkage makes it strong. Therefore there are many reasons to embrace the date, aware that Cuba has men and women who ensure the safety of all.
