Educational Centers of Puerto Padre Transformed into Summer Villas

The Camilo Cienfuegos Gorriarán elementary school, in Puerto Padre, will function as a Summer Center, during the months of July and August, for girls and boys whose parents continue to work during the mass holiday period.

Puerto Padre, Las Tunas.- The initiative of the Education System seeks to protect the working mother during the summer period and guarantee the custody of the children in an environment of healthy and instructive fun.
The services of the Summer Center are designed to benefit students from the municipal seat, from 8:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon, and includes food guarantee, recreational activities on campus and visits to museums, parks and historical sites of the locality.

PIONNEERS' PALACE BECOMES A SUMMER VILLA

"The Camilo Cienfuegos Pioneers' Palace turned into a summer village on Tuesday , with a program that includes visits to beaches and historical sites, as well as cultural, sports and vocational training activities," Eloida Basulto Rodríguez, director of the institution, told Radio Libertad.
Every year, by this date, the collective of the educational center transforms the classrooms into dormitories, to welcome children and guides of the José Martí Pioneers Organization from the rural schools of the territory.
The exchange with children from other municipalities housed in the Zara Lafita Zayas marine pioneers camp, in Cayo Juan Claro, is scheduled. The approach to the local history, through the visit to museums and prominent places linked with the fighting traditions of the town of Puerto Padre, is also included.
The Children's Day, on Sunday 15th, will be a special festivity, because the 43 anniversary of the foundation of the pioneers' palace is also celebrated that day.
