Las Tunas, Cuba.- The new plant assumes all the productions of this type carried out by the entity, now with a modern equipment that improves the quality in the manufacture of chairs, armchairs, lockers, beds and other assortments.
Eduardo Avilés González, head of the workshop, told Tiempo21 that the new technology replaces old machines with more than 30 years of exploitation that processed different raw materials.
The purchase of a modern cutter, a bender and other machines contributes to raise the quality of the furniture, the official said.
The workers that previously made the bases of the lamps and those in charge of making metal furniture in a workshop located in the Ludema headquarters in this city were also merged.
Experienced technicians were trained to operate the equipment from China, Avilés González explained, and confirmed that they adapted to the change, because it humanizes the work.
Humberto Clara González, operator of the bender machine said that "I manipulated before one of Italian origin that required physical efforts and made a lot of noise".
Some 50 workers enjoy a better technological environment in their jobs, and adapt to the intense days of August with the aim of fulfilling the production commitments of 2018.
The metal furniture made here are mainly fabricated in tubes and they use wood, boards and upholstery for its finishing.
The current destinations of the productions are hospitals, schools, offices and the retail market throughout the country.
