The Vidal Navas Fernández cigars factory, located in the municipality of Puerto Padre, is the only of its kind in the province that produces for export, which constitutes an important contribution to the economy of the country.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The manufacture of cigars for the foreign market began experimentally in 2005, with the José Luis de la Madrid Piedra brand, of category VI, but the damages caused by Hurricane Ike in September 2008 caused its interruption until 2013, when production was resumed.

Since then they have been meeting quality standards and have incorporated other brands and more demanding and competitive bands, among which stand out Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta, both of the category VII; and the Robusto, of class VIII.
