Dr. Wendy MachínShe is missing in the consultations of the Guillermo Domínguez López General Teaching Hospital, in Puerto Padre. For almost a month, she has been walking around Moquegua, 1,100 kilometers south of Lima, in Peru, as part of the Cuban medical collaboration.

Puerto Padre, Las Tunas.- She is a member of the Henry Reeve Internationalist Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics; thus she knows of the greatness of saving lives.

Since June 8, at the Moquegua Hospital, Wendy Machín faces the COVID-19, attending positive patients. She overcomes fears and takes care of herself, which is to protect the others.

Blissful is that of Wendy, who has a lovely family. Her best guides, veterinary doctors, teach her to be more human every day. Her most beautiful fruit: Sergio, who misses her, because they have always shared every second. Now, the distance makes their days endless and social media bring them closer.

Seduced in adolescence by the magic of Puerto Padre, she asked her family to settle home in this city and 30 years later, they agree that it was the best decision.

Wendy is sure of herself and her fertile dedication to Medicine. She saves lives, which is part of duty and happiness.
