The anti-imperialist vocation of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) is an intrinsic part of that organization. This was emphasized by its members in this province of eastern Cuba during another of the neighborhood debates for patriotic and anti-imperialist duty.

Las Tunas.- These meetings encourage community reflection on the country's most urgent tasks today, in the face of the tightening of the U.S. economic blockade. The confrontation with imperialism for its sequel of social injustice and threat to life on the planet, also supposes preserving the Revolution, affirmed the member Armando Ernesto Cruz García during the meeting, the second that takes place here in less than a month.

Cruz García urged the study of the whole saga of aggressions of the successive governments of the United States, not only to Cuba, but also in the rest of the continent. The coup d'état against Bolivian President Evo Morales is proof that the imperialists do not forgive any process of progressive change, even if it is not communist, he stressed.

The space for the exchange of ideas, this time in the historic center of the city of Las Tunas, was presided over by Julia Durrutí Molina, a member of the National Secretariat of the CDR, and Maura Rodríguez Ramírez, provincial coordinator.

Amado Batista Cruz, after recalling that Washington's economic siege measures against our country also affect third countries, expressed the view shared by those present that defending the Revolution is to be anti-imperialist. Yuniel Ávila Rodríguez added that the struggle is now with ideas. "We, young people are no longer future, we are the present of the Homeland," he concluded.
