Las Tunas, Cuba.- Since the start of work, at the beginning of April 2017, workers from the Construction and Mounting Company of the province work daily up to 12 hours, with an optimal use of time.
The construction of curbs and sidewalks, as well as the separator and the installation of the metallic poles for the luminaries of this part, of four paths and 6.4 kilometers in length, advance simultaneously and at the same pace that the works of the road.
Delfin Acosta, official of the entity, and Norberto Fonseca, technician, explained to the ACN that for this year there are assigned 8,000 tons of asphalt; and they should finish more than three kilometers.
The work that began in April of the previous year turned out to be complex for the earth moving brigade, having to clear several elevations on firm ground, while the builders had to leave eight structures ready.
The greatest difficulties of the current year took place in January, when the continuous rains made it impossible to move forward, but the current pace of work guarantees compliance with the objectives set, Acosta said.
The Construction and Mounting Company has the challenge of completing the four lanes, the sidewalks, the curbs and the separator, and will also assume the renovation of institutions and the arrangement of surrounding streets.
The clearing of land to widen 1.5 kilometers of the Central Highway, which gives access to the west entrance of the city of Las Tunas, began some days ago, with the aim of solving problems of roadways and drainage in that zone of the provincial capital.
