Las Tunas sends aid to Pinar and Cienfuegos

A contingent of around 70 linemen, grouped into four brigades, will leave no later than this Thursday morning for Pinar del Río, which suffered from Ian's winds of more than 205 kilometers per hour.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Two service cars and two multipurpose equipment, besides the technical, logistical, and insurance personnel, and a group of specialists will work in the municipality of Minas de Matahambre, informed Carlos Arias Sobrino, director general of the Electric Company in this eastern Cuban province.

“As usual in these events, all the personnel of the Electric Union join forces to restore the service in the provinces that were affected; we will there, contributing to the recovery,” he assured.

Workers from the AZCUBA Sugar Business Group have already left for the province of Cienfuegos to also collaborate. Mayelín Reyes León, director of the Services Company at the Amancio Rodríguez Sugar Company, specified that the brigades and three vehicles with a lifter each will be dedicated to cleaning and collecting debris in the so-called Pearl of the South.
