The beginning of September has a special nuance. Schools open their doors to the new academic year, filled with colors and the contagious joy that only our students transmit.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- We all know that the country is going through difficult times, mainly for a sector as sensitive as this one, but the course begins, despite so many shortcomings, because stopping education is not an option.

Each educational center strives to guarantee what is essential to students. Managers look for solutions, and teachers adjust their plans to the reality of each classroom and families, putting their best effort and everything within their reach available to the students.

Trust and support, two words that go hand in hand and are so necessary in these hours, in which the resources to sustain the daily performance of learners become more difficult every day.

Schools, despite everything, continue to be the center of the lives of our children, adolescents and young people. We cannot give up this privilege that Cuba offers us.

In the midst of this effort, hope remains alive, not just any hope; it is the one that is born from knowing that, although much is lacking, knowledge is the only thing that no one is going to take away from them.

Not everyone has a classroom nearby. Many university students go far from home and today cannot return. Sometimes classes will not be in person; however, they will continue, looking for how to do it.

This is how another school period begins. With what there is, what we can, and what each one is willing to give. It won't be easy, but the schools, the enthusiasm, and the collective effort are still there. As usual. As it should be.
