Cuba debuts Today in Men's Basketball World Cup Americas Pre-Qualifiers

Cuba will debut today as visitor against Mexico in the FIBA Men's Basketball World Cup China 2019 Americas Pre-Qualifiers.

Havana, Cuba.- The game will take place Nuevo Leon Dome; while Puerto Rico and USA, two other members of this group will play at the CFE Arena in Orlando, Florida.
FIBA implemented this year a novel qualifying system that includes 80 squads that will play home and away matches in six windows.
The Caribbean side is made up by 12 players, led by Javier Justiz, Orestes Torres, Lisvan Valdes, Karel Guzman, Yoanki Mencia and Joel Cubillas, all playing professionally in Argentina and El Salvador.
The team also includes Jasiel Rivero, also with experience in the leagues of Argentina and Uruguay, and Yasser Rodriguez, Eliecer Quintana, Raul Abreu, Yuniskel Molina and Dainer Martinez.
After their debut in Mexican lands, Cubans will face next Sunday Puerto Rico, Centrobasket 2016 champions, at Havana´s Sports City Coliseum. (acn)
