AGROINT Las Tunas, first exportation pole in the province

The Havana International Trade Fair (FIHAV 2022) brought together more than 60 countries in the Cuban capital, interested in negotiations and commercial exchanges with the Island. Some 400 foreign and national companies gathered to share in the largest business meeting in the Caribbean region.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The eastern province of Las Tunas had unprecedented spaces; four moments were reserved for presentations of the territory within the program of the Fair.

During the first day of the event, the launch of the Las Tunas Winter Fair as an international socioeconomic product took place; whose second edition is scheduled for December 20-23, as the Trade and Industry Fair. An initial experience -carried out in 2021- left the concretion of more than 400 business agreements, between signing agreements and letters of intent.

“We have grown in the number of exportable. We arrived at the 1st Winter Fair with only 14; now, there will be more than twenty products and services, in different phases, for export. We intend to consolidate th3 event as a business opportunity for negotiations, with international participation,” highlighted Salvador Sariol Vistorte, head of the Department of Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment, and International Cooperation of the Las Tunas government body.

Another of the most relevant moments for the eastern province in FIHAV was the officialization of AGROINT as the first import-export company in the territory, which rises as the 13th Cuban pole for the export of assortments and services.

“AGROINT is preparing to bring the most genuine Cuban flavor to the international market through its commercial brands; Satio for the agricultural products under development (loquat, Havana chili pepper, and Persian lemon) and Marabex for the consolidated charcoal,” pointed out by its general director, Alberto González Hernández, during the presentation of the Company before directors of the Ministry of Foreign Trade (MINCEX) and national and foreign businessmen.

The Fishing (PESCATUN) and Integral Food companies presented investment projects with the participation of foreign capital. Both are opening up to new economic routes that will come to fruition starting next December in Las Tunas.

A total of ten companies from the province participated in the 38th edition of the Havana International Trade Fair. The food and industrial sectors stood out among the most represented during the commercial forum. Canada, the Caribbean, and Europe are safe markets for products of Las Tunas, from negotiations in FIHAV 2022.
