National Fire Protection and Safety System Day.

From May 5th to the 18th, the National Fire Protection and Safety System Day is underway in the province of Las Tunas, as in the rest of the country, to promote risk prevention and a culture of self-care.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- As part of the event, the 59th National Fire Protection Week is taking place from Monday, under the slogan "Prevent today, to live tomorrow," intending to raise awareness among the population to promote safe environments in public and private spaces.

The activities include training the population on basic physical and nautical safety measures and the correct use of fire extinguishers, alarm systems, and evacuation routes, which contribute to preventing these fatal events and the preservation of human lives.

Likewise, in the eight municipalities, the goal is to strengthen coordination between emergency institutions and communities to reduce the occurrence of fires, which harm people's health and the environment, and cause significant economic losses.

Until next Sunday, evacuation drills are being held in schools, businesses, and shopping centers, as well as educational talks in vulnerable communities, and practical demonstrations of firefighting equipment are being conducted.

In Las Tunas, the event also includes firefighters' recognition for the risks they consistently take to extinguish the flames and minimize damage. The leadership of this agency is inviting those interested in joining this courageous force.

Those interested must be between 18 and 25 years old and can choose the specialties of driver (operator), professional firefighter, company and vehicle commander, or inspector.
