Under the slogan "Solidarity prevails," the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) in the province received, for the second time, a significant donation destined for the victims of Hurricane Melissa. The contribution by the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) reflects the joint effort of mass organizations and institutions to mitigate the storm effects.
Las Tunas, Cuba.– The provincial coordinator of the CDR, Eddy Sander Sánchez Concepción, emphasized that "It is clear that the most important element of the Cuban Revolution is unity. This is a fundamental pillar that has characterized the people of Las Tunas and has been demonstrated once again. The Cuban family organization did not want to be left behind in this gesture of selflessly contributing what we have."
The donation, which includes essential items such as shoes, toiletries, and clothing for children, women, and men, was meticulously sorted by a commission appointed for this task.
“We already have the entire shipment, a truckload, destined for the Holguín province, one of the hardest hit by the hurricane as it swept through eastern Cuba.”

For her part, Lieutenant Tania Salazar Aguilera explained that “After the storm, we were tasked by the highest leadership of the country with collecting donations to send to the most affected provinces.”
Salazar Aguilera emphasized the role of the Ministry of the Interior, the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), the Young Communist League (UJC), civilian workers, and soldiers. “All combatants, in general, are involved, demonstrating their commitment to every mission or task assigned to them.” With this second shipment, Las Tunas channels its disaster response capacity, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it the most.
