Angiology and Vascular Surgery ward at the Guillermo Domínguez Hospital.

A love for medicine and a willingness to serve others prevail in doctors Delia Rosa Peña Guerrero and Onésimo Rodríguez Rojas, who, along with patients, are responsible for the opening of the Angiology and Vascular Surgery ward at the Guillermo Domínguez López General Teaching Hospital.

Puerto Padre, Las Tunas.– The hands and voices of many good people came together to achieve better care for the residents of this territory and those from “Jesús Menéndez” whose condition requires specialized care. The new ward, located on the fourth floor of the health institution, will allow the hospitalization of patients who, until now, mostly had to travel to the Dr. Ernesto Guevara Hospital, in the provincial capital.

Angiology and Vascular Surgery ward at the Guillermo Domínguez López General Teaching Hospital.It also includes a room for wound care, with all the privacy and conditions required for this type of procedure. The opening of the new ward, belonging to the Mixed Surgery service, was attended by the president of the Municipal Defense Council, Yanisleydis Fernández López, and the vice president, Octavio Alonso García.

Dr. Peña Guerrero expressed her gratitude to all those who contributed to making this long-standing demand of specialists, nurses, and patients a reality. She highlighted how, in just six months, they overcame adversity and brought the space to fruition, enabling them to provide better patient care.

From now on, the team of professionals and technicians in Angiology and Vascular Surgery has its own dedicated room at the "Guillermo Domínguez López" Hospital; this achievement strengthens the quality of public healthcare in northern Las Tunas.
