Venezuelan Minister Denounces Aggressions at UN Photo: Taken from PL

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza today demanded the end of the aggressions against his country at the 39th session of the UN Human Rights Council taking place here.

Geneva, Switzerland.- "We ask, on behalf of the Venezuelan people and President Nicolás Maduro, to stop the political, economic, media aggression and threat of use of military force against our country," he denounced in his speech.

In this regard, the Foreign Minister rejected the attempts of media corporations to magnify the national situation and described as "a great cynicism that those who block Venezuela offer afterwards humanitarian aid."

In that sense, Arreaza mentioned the report made by the independent expert Alfred de Zayas, and presented to the UN, in which he denounces the negative impact of the measures adopted by the United States against Venezuela.

The expert had free access and mobility, acknowledged the Minister, he met with civil society, government authorities, opposition factors, victims and detainees for political violence in Venezuela. He had full freedom to contact everyone, he explained. (PL)
