This is Maduro’s third visit to Saudi Arabia

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, will hold in this Saudi Arabian city a series of work meetings to consolidate political, diplomatic and energy relations between the two nations.

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.- The president arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport in the early hours of Monday morning, accompanied by the first combatant and deputy to the National Assembly Cilia Flores, Foreign Minister Yván Gil, and the Minister of Communication and Information Freddy Ñáñez, among other officials.

Maduro arrived in the second most important city of the Arab country, coming from Türkiye where he attended the inauguration of his counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, after his victory with more than 52% of the votes in the second round of the May 28 elections.

This is Maduro's third visit to Saudi Arabia after his trips in 2015 and 2016, the last one to promote boosting the recovery and stabilization of crude oil prices, official sources indicated.

Bilateral relations between Caracas and Riyadh are based on their concurrence in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, both countries being founders of its birth certificate on September 14, 1960.

With the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution and Commander Hugo Chávez (1954-2013), the bonds of friendship between both nations were consolidated in a new stage of cooperation, beyond oil. (PL)
