Founders of the 200T Laminator were honored in celebration of its 35th anniversary

The tribute to its still active founders was the highlight of the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the inauguration of the 200-T Laminator, one of the main industries of the eastern Las Tunas province.

Las Tunas, Cuba. - In the evening that was chaired by the member of the Central Committee of the Party and its first secretary in the province, Manuel René Pérez Gallego, as well as by union leaders and representatives of the Party and the Government in the capital municipality, 20 members of the collective witnessed of those founding moments were praised for their dedication and uninterrupted work at the service of this factory.

In addition, the base business units (UEB) Machining, Maintenance and Rolling Workshops were honored for their productive results throughout the three and a half decades of the plant's life.

"Each productive record, translated into tons of steel for the benefit of the country, bears the sacrifice of each one of us," said Master of Science Yunior Santiesteban Rodríguez, head of the UEB Lamination.

Precisely, these memorable brands are clear testimony that we are facing a group that does not believe in impossible things, concluded Eraldo González Arias, first vice president of the Acero Business Group and its derivatives.

"El 200," as it is affectionately called by the workers of the Stainless-Steel Company (ACINOX Las Tunas), is one of the two plants producing corrugated carbon steel bars in Cuba. It entered into operation after its official opening on November 28, 1988, in a massive event presided over by the Historical Leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.
