The former presidents of Sao Tome and Principe, Miguel de Anjos Trovoada and Manuel Pinto da Costa have joined other ex-heads of African States who will observe the fourth election since Angola became independent. Trovoada, who heads the mission from the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries, expressed interest in participating in the process, which he described as having great civism to consolidate democracy.
For his part, da Costa noted the Angolan people's maturity when he compared the preparations for August 23 with his participation in the first election here in 1992.
I am convinced that the Angolans, once again, will teach a lesson of their patriotic spirit, he pointed out. (PL)
