Caracas.- Saab said that actions are planned from Colombia, as bombing and military invasion, to occupy a peaceful country like Venezuela.
Colombia was a key stop for U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in his tour across various Latin American countries to strengthen the diplomatic attacks against the Government of Nicolas Maduro and was recently visited by head of the U.S. Southern Command Kurt Tidd.
Saab said that the democratic institutions, the Venezuelan people and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces will not allow military attacks from Colombia, one of the main allies of the United States in the region.
'We are going to fight here and we are going to resist, we are not afraid,' said Saab during the ceremony for the 380th anniversary of the founding of the city of Barcelona, in the state of Anzoategui.
In recent days President of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos said that more than 2,000 soldiers will be sent to the border with Venezuela, while ordering to increase the operations of the Navy and the Air Force in the area.
He explained that the actions seek to strengthen controls and security in the area given the situation caused by the growing flow of immigrants from Venezuela. (PL)
