Caracas.- The collaboration will materialize through an agreement aimed at improving the productivity of agro-industrial items such as sugar, coffee, cocoa, corn, rice, soybeans and legumes, said El Aissami in the UNIDO Programmatic Framework Forum: regulation, inclusive and sustainable industrial development of Venezuela.
He also called on producers to work for the country's self-sufficiency in agricultural items at all levels of production and distribution and called for resuming the development of agriculture to end the vices of the capitalist model dependent on oil income.
The Venezuelan vice president pointed out the importance of boosting the agro-industrial engine so that it also contributes to the other 14 engines of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda, promoted by President Nicolás Maduro.
According to the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), the cooperation between Venezuela and the UNIDO is reflected in the agreement Country Program 2018-2021 and will advance towards the design of a 12-month action plan.
The objective of the cooperation is to boost food production in Venezuela and open roads to export. (PL)
