The Syrian Ministry of Health announced that the number of soldiers and civilians killed in the terrorist attack against a military academy that occurred on Thursday increased to 89.

Damascus.- The Ministry issued a statement explaining that there were 35 women and five children among the fatalities, while 277 were injured, and he also noted that the toll could increase.

The Government declared three days of public and official mourning for the civilian and military victims of the attack and announced that flags will be lowered to half-mast in the country and all Syrian embassies and diplomatic missions abroad.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the attack and described it as vile and cowardly, and a clear example of the terrorist and brutal approach of its perpetrators.

It assured that this act will not weaken the determination to eradicate the plague of terrorism, and called on the United Nations and the Security Council to condemn this aggression and for the States' sponsors of terrorism to be held accountable for their crimes against the Syrian people. (PL)
