Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu met Chinese political leader in Moscow.

Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu affirmed that relations between his country and China are at an unprecedented level and are experiencing their best period in history.

Moscow.- In bilateral consultations held within the framework of the 13th International Meeting of Senior Representatives for Security Affairs in Moscow, the Russian leader confirmed to Chen Wenqing, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, that the comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction have reached an unprecedented level.

“Moscow and Beijing consider each other priority partners and maintain cooperation based on respect, equality, and trust,” Shoigu stated.

In this regard, he made it clear that the ties between Moscow and Beijing do not constitute a military-political alliance, but rather go beyond that traditional model of interaction.

He also emphasized that cooperation in the field of intelligence services is one of the key areas of transcendental cooperation between the nations.

Shoigu added that Russian-Chinese foreign policy coordination represents an important stabilizing factor globally, and that high-level dialogue between leaders Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping plays a central role in strengthening bilateral ties. (PL)
