Hanoi.- To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), praised in this capital on Saturday the deep pride and full confidence in the character, responsibility, and will of the People's Public Security Force.
This force will be a key factor in ensuring the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 14th CPV National Congress and the Party’s strategic policies in the country’s new era of development, To Lam underscored while speaking at the 8th Congress of the CPV Central Committee for Public Security, 2025-2030.
The top party leader emphasized that this is an event of special importance for the protection of national security and social order, as well as for the defense of the country’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in the new revolutionary period.
The Party chief reviewed the numerous achievements of the Party Central Committee of Public Security in the recent period, and stressed its strategic advisory work, fully grasping the spirit of “proactive security,” taking the initiative, and providing advice to manage complex situations.
He also added, “They have dared to propose improving relations with several key partners, contributing not only to overcoming the risk of the country becoming stagnant or trapped on the ‘political chessboard’ of a major country, but also to creating a solid position to contribute to improving the nation’s prestige and image.”
Referring to the protection of national security, he praised the combat, dismantling, and neutralization of hundreds of intelligence agents, spy bases, and spies in and outside the country, as well as the prevention and thwarting of sabotage by numerous reactionary organizations in exile and internal opposition groups.
He also praised the resolute fight against all kinds of crimes, especially corruption, waste, and drug-related crimes, reducing social crimes by five percent annually, and thoroughly, strictly, and legally investigating many serious corruption cases in the spirit of “no forbidden zones, no exceptions.”
To Lam said the Party Committee effectively led the implementation of all aspects of Public Security work to serve socioeconomic development and the people, and successfully met the established goals, achieving notable progress and growth.
