
Military representatives from China and the United States held the second meeting of the working group and the annual meeting of the Maritime Military Security Consultation Mechanism 2025 in Hawaii, official sources reported.
Beijing.- According to the Chinese military’s official WeChat account, from November 18 to 20, both sides exchanged views on the current state of maritime and air security between the two countries.
The representatives analyzed typical encounter scenarios between their naval and air forces and assessed the annual implementation of the “Code of Conduct for Safe Encounters between China and the United States Maritime and Air Forces.”
They also discussed measures to improve the management of bilateral maritime military security and agreed on preliminary topics for the working group meeting in 2026.
The delegations emphasized that the mechanism contributes to ensuring that frontline troops operate with greater professionalism and safety.
According to the statement, they emphasized that talks reduce the risk of misunderstandings and strengthen crisis management.
China reiterated its opposition to any action that, under the pretext of freedom of navigation and overflight, infringes upon its sovereignty and security. (PL)
