Russia points the finger at Europe for hindering peace agreement with Ukraine.

European countries are stubbornly obstructing progress in talks to end the Ukrainian conflict, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov denounced.

Moscow.- Ryabkov told reporters, “There is still no clarity on how the discussions in Geneva ended, nor on what role the destructive forces forming around the European Union are playing in all of this, forces that have tried and continue to try to thwart further progress.”

Ryabkov emphasized that Russia will work with the version of the peace agreement that White House envoy Steve Witkoff will bring to Moscow.

US President Donald Trump announced on November 25 that Witkoff would travel to Russia next week to meet with President Vladimir Putin, “hoping to finalize the peace plan.”

A US delegation, comprised of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, White House Envoy Steve Witkoff, Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll, and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, met with the Ukrainian delegation in Geneva, Switzerland, on Sunday to discuss the Trump-backed peace plan.

The US government previously announced an initiative to pursue a negotiated solution to the Ukrainian conflict, stating that it would not provide details at this time because the work was still underway. (PL)
