Reliever Rodolfo Díaz is among the best Cuban pitchers.

Pitcher Rodolfo Díaz, with the Las Tunas Lumberjacks, ranked among the top 20 pitchers in the last three Cuban National Baseball Series, according to a statistical study by specialist Benigno Daquinta.

Las Tunas, Cuba.– The analysis, which compiles the best individual performances between the 61st and 63rd Series, includes Díaz on the list of pitchers with the best on-base percentage (WHIP). The right-hander from Las Tunas achieved a mark of 1.35, placing him eighteenth in the national ranking.

The study considered all pitchers who accumulated at least 100 innings during those three seasons. WHIP is a key indicator that measures pitchers’ control, calculated by adding the number of hits and walks allowed and dividing by the number of innings pitched.

Rodolfo Díaz, a pillar of the Lumberjacks' pitching staff, worked 142 innings during the period, allowing 148 hits and issuing 45 walks. His ability to limit baserunners was his main strength, earning him a place on this elite list of Cuban baseball.

The best WHIP of the three seasons, 1.11, was achieved by Erlis Casanova (Pinar del Río).
