The leader of Russia's Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR), Leonid Slutsky, advocated for the legalization of digital assets, including cryptocurrency, in the country.
Moscow.- According to the politician, speaking to the Gazeta.ru online newspaper, the initiative is not related to speculation, but rather to the country’s technological and financial sovereignty, and also to creating new opportunities for free enterprise, mainly in the IT and telecommunications sectors.
Slutsky stated that Russia cannot continue to prohibit what is actively used around the world. On the contrary, it must learn to manage it.
The politician also noted that after the victory in the special military operation, Russia must be open to the future and not remain mired in archaic prohibitions.
VIt will also need to provide citizens with the tools for development and not take them away under fabricated pretexts, Slutsky added. (PL)
