Trump Groenlandia2

Threats, disrespect, and even "enjoyment" when his military kills other people are basic rules applied by U.S. President Donald Trump. With these premises, the most ambitious man of all has burst onto the scene in 2026: the man who wants all the oil on the planet, all the gold and other metals, and even all the ice in Greenland.

One of his statements, lacking the most basic respect for another country, its inhabitants, and the government of that island, was made this Sunday when, referring to Greenland and the idea of invading it and turning it into US territory, he claimed that the island "has a defense of only two dog sleds." In other words, according to Trump, its nearly 57,000 inhabitants would be powerless to resist a possible fascist attack by the U.S. administration.

Such hatred for others, such contempt, from a leader possessed by a fascist ego and philosophy.

This is the ambitious president who has just completed the first year of his second term in the White House and has begun 2026 spewing hatred and wars everywhere.

On Greenland, he reiterated his plans to "acquire" ownership of the island, "one way or another," as if it were just another real estate deal.

In this regard, the Danish ambassador to the United States, Jasper Moller Sorensen, quoted by RT, pointed out that "history does matter and Greenland belongs to its people."

The diplomat recalled that "an overwhelming majority of Greenlanders" voted in favor of their self-governing status within the kingdom and that "this week, the five parties in Parliament reiterated that they do not want to become [part of] the U.S."

The world's largest island, rich in minerals, has an area of 2.2 million square kilometers. It is located between the North Atlantic and Arctic oceans. It is part of Denmark, although it enjoys extensive autonomy by having its own government.

In this regard, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that "it makes no sense to talk about the need for the US to take over Greenland. The US has no right to annex one of the three countries of the Danish Realm," she emphasized.

RT recalls historical facts such as Greenland has been populated by different Arctic peoples who migrated there for approximately 4,500 years. For about 400 years, beginning in 986 CE, the southern part of the island was also inhabited by Norse people in colonies established by the Viking, merchant, and Norwegian explorer Erik the Red.

But Donald Trump seems not to care about the history of that island, nor the formation of its culture and way of life.

Thus, last Monday, a bill was presented in Congress on the "annexation and granting of statehood" to Greenland by the United States, which will allow the president to "take the necessary measures to annex or acquire Greenland as a U.S. territory." Besides, it requires the submission of a report to the legislature with the changes that must be made to admit the island as an official state.

As a real estate mogul, the U.S. president seeks to increase his wealth and dominate everything and everyone, regardless of whether they are from cold countries or other climates. (Granma)
