Ishaq Dar , Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced that Pakistan will host talks between Iran and the United States to reach an immediate and permanent end to the war currently affecting global energy supplies.

The Pakistani official shared the information during a television appearance following a meeting in Islamabad with his counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Türkiye, held as part of a quadrilateral summit in the Pakistani capital.

Dar stated that both Iran and the United States had expressed confidence in Pakistan's role as a facilitator of the negotiations.

During the meeting, participants agreed that the war did not serve the interests of any of the parties involved and discussed ways to bring about an "immediate and permanent end" to the conflict, Dar noted.

The foreign ministers underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path forward, with discussions centering on de-escalation and regional stability.

According to Dar, the ministers urged all countries to respect each other's sovereignty and security, in line with the United Nations Charter.

The Pakistani foreign minister also stated that the current situation in the Middle East has underscored the growing importance of unity within the Muslim world.

He reaffirmed that it will be an honor for Pakistan to host and facilitate "meaningful conversations between both parties in the coming days, with a view to achieving a comprehensive and lasting solution to the ongoing conflict."

Dar additionally confirmed that he held detailed phone conversations with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi as part of ongoing diplomatic contacts, emphasizing that Beijing fully supports Pakistan's initiative to host the Iran-United States talks. (CubaSí)
