Aattempt to introduce narcotics in Cuba inside a water pump and an electric shower.

Authorities at José Martí International Airport in Havana stopped a drug trafficking attempt.

Havana, Cuba.- According to William Pérez, First Deputy Chief of the General Customs Office of the Republic, the detection was possible thanks to the expertise of X-ray equipment and the joint work of customs with the Anti-Drug Agency.

According to Cubadebate, images shared on social media about the incident show an attempt to "introduce narcotics onto the island inside a water pump and an electric shower."

These actions happen at a critical moment in the nation's fight against this scourge. Cuba has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy toward drugs on several occasions and recently inaugurated a National Observatory to eradicate this social evil and its consequences. (Cuba Si)
