Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero reported on Cuba’s participation in the virtual Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting held in Moscow.
Havana, Cuba.- “We reaffirm the will to continue strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation, and integration as a tool for the development of our countries,” he said on the social network X.
During his address to the Council, PM Marrero thanked the governments of the Union for their support, last October 29, for the resolution calling for an end to the US economic, commercial, and financial blockade against Cuba, despite the unprecedented pressure exerted by the current US government to prevent that outcome.
He also assured that despite the adversities, the island continues to work without stopping on a development strategy with clearly defined axes, which prioritize human development, equity, social justice, and environmental sustainability.
It is also driving the Government Programme to correct distortions and revive the economy, with emphasis on actions aimed at increasing business and foreign investment in key sectors, for which we recently announced a Plan of Measures that encourages investors.
“The history of friendship and cooperation with Eurasian nations is the most solid foundation for building this strategic partnership and implementing integration as a tool for the development of our countries,” he concluded. (PL)
