On August 13, 2026, it will be a century since the birth of an indispensable man in the history of his country. Heir to the most genuine of revolutionary thought, promoter of socialist society, and undisputedly responsible for a small Island, 90 miles from the United States, to have managed to build a different society from the stigmas established for the so-called Third World nations.

Cuba celebrated the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Because it is a friendship whose roots are anchored to the heart, this Monday afternoon took place with the presence of First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, the ceremony for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

We are pleasantly surprised by the immediate and massive participation of the Vietnamese people, the ambassador said.

The fundraising campaign “65 Years of Vietnam–Cuba Solidarity,” launched on August 13 by the Vietnam Red Cross to support the Caribbean island, garnered participation from more than 1.7 million people in just six days, raising nearly 339 billion dongs, or approximately 13 million dollars.
