A commission from Cuba’s Ministry of Higher Education recently visited the University of Las Tunas, which was led by Deputy Minister Dr. C. Reynaldo Velázquez Zaldívar, accompanied by Director of Education Dr. C. Natalia Martínez Sánchez and David Lahera Rodríguez, an official from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC in Spanish).

Technical and Vocational Education (ETP in Spanish) has opened its classrooms and workshops to some 7,600 students: 7,073 are enrolled in the regular daytime program, 527 in trade schools, and 141 in the program for working adults.

Mayelín Núñez Mendoza’s life could be summed up in one word: dedication. For more than 30 years, she has been a teacher at the Amiguitos del Minint childcare center in Las Tunas and has dedicated every day to the little ones who arrive at this institution each morning.
