Provincial act to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of Cuban Courts of Justice.

Cuba is a country that has made social justice its raison d'être. In this well-established project, the people are not mere observers but rather participate in every decision made, according to the principles of socialist democracy.

Las Tunas, Cuba.– In this ongoing process of improvement, December 23rd represents a celebration of the work of the court system employees. Guided by the precepts and the norms that govern us, the provincial ceremony commemorating the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of the Courts of Justice in Cuba was held in this eastern province.

The event provided an opportune setting to recognize outstanding workers, prominent staff, and judicial areas that have excelled this year. As a special moment, the Supreme People's Court of Cuba decided to recognize the most experienced employees for their duty fulfilled, with the Judicial Merit Award, which is granted to workers with extensive experience in the court system.

Outstanding workers and judicial areas were recognized.

On this occasion, the honorees were Juana Guerra Martínez and Gladis Peña Palomino, with 40 and 41 years in the judicial system.

For Gladis, it is an honor; studying law has always been her dream. "It's a surprise for me; I never imagined I would be recognized in this way. Years have passed, and we've had legislative changes that require us to be better prepared; it's our duty."

Juana, a retired judicial secretary, returned because of her love for the institution. "Walking the courthouse corridors has been part of my daily life for 40 years; my commitment is here. I feel I can still teach the new generations."

Two workers deserved the Judicial Merit Award.

Osbel Lorenzo Rodríguez, First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) in the province, and Yelenys Tornet Menéndez, Governor, congratulated those present. Lorenzo Rodríguez stated, "I believe the most important thing is to educate, teach, and prevent anyone from committing crimes. We know we can count on you; it is essential to maintain ethics and preparedness, and you are a worthy example in this regard.”

"We are living through extremely complex times, and courts' employees have developed the capacity to remain on the frontline."
