THE FIRM VOICE OF THE REVOLUTION

Upon taking the floor, Lorenzo Rodríguez recited the oath of loyalty to the legacy of the fallen. With an energetic voice and deep conviction, he declared: “To our fallen compatriots, we reaffirm that their blood was not shed in vain; we will be faithful to their legacy, and we will know how to defend the sacred soil of the socialist homeland under any circumstances in which the enemy attacks us. We are determined to fight firmly and indomitably.”

Osbel Lorenzo Rodríguez“When there is courage, he said, when there is awareness, when there are ideas, unity; when there is a doctrine, a political thought; when there is a Party, a leadership, and when one fights for freedom and independence, there can be no defeat.”

He emphasized that, in the centennial year of Fidel's birth, efforts will be redoubled in priority tasks, such as food production and defense, as well as strengthening revolutionary unity as a “secret strategic weapon” to preserve independence.

“From this platform, from the land of Major General Vicente García, we reaffirm that the 32 brothers who fell in the line of duty in our sister Venezuela are neither forgotten nor dead. On the contrary, they exalt and honor the bravery of the men and women who make up our Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior, the armed wing of the people,” he proclaimed.

He concluded his address with a firm promise: “From here we swear that as long as there is one Cuban standing, with their heart beating for their homeland, the flags of the Revolution will not fall. We will continue to denounce this criminal and terrorist act against the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and we reaffirm what Bolívar said: ‘Liberty is the only object worthy of the sacrifice of human life.’”

A PEOPLE WHO DON’T BEND

The ceremony was, once again, tangible proof that Cubans belong to the lineage of those who do not bend or allow themselves to be defeated. The tribute to the 32 heroes transcends grief, becoming fuel for the struggle, a commitment to peace and solidarity among the peoples of Our America. Their example lives on and amplifies the resistance of an entire nation, ready to defend its sovereignty and continue writing, with sacrifice and victories, the history of the Revolution.

On Friday afternoon, similar ceremonies were held in all the municipalities of Las Tunas province.
