For their comprehensive results, farmers from the municipality of Majibacoa were honored to host the provincial event commemorating the 64th anniversary of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP). The act was held at the Frank País agricultural production cooperative, in the community of La Esperanza.
Las Tunas, Cuba.– That territory topped the May 17th fraternal competition in Las Tunas, thanks to the efforts of local farmers, the strengthening of grassroots structures, their valuable contribution to food production, and the achievement of other indicators.
One of the most moving moments of the political and cultural ceremony was when producer Elder Santiesteban Pérez, from the Melton Almaguer Credit and Services Cooperative, of the Jesús Menéndez municipality, received the Romárico Cordero Medal from Osbel Lorenzo Rodríguez, the first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) in the province.
Six farmers were also awarded the Antero Regalado Falcón Distinction; six others received the commemorative stamp honoring José "Pepe" Ramírez Cruz, and several received diplomas as National Vanguard from the organization.
In the presence of Governor Yelenis Tornet Menéndez and other political and government leaders, representatives of political and grassroots organizations presented awards to Dadier Miranda Cabrera, acting president of the ANAP.
Miranda Cabrera stated that they work to foster the growth of members, especially young people and women, and promote sports, cultural, and recreational activities, for the preservation of history, the prevention of crimes and social indiscipline, and the application of agroecology, science, and technology.
Addys Oliver Moreno spoke on behalf of the members of the Frank País CPA, highlighting the transformations of rural settlements and the respect and equality between women and men; in addition to their contribution to finding solutions and supporting all activities within the area.
Along with Majibacoa, the work of Jobabo and “Colombia” municipalities was recognized.
