Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega on Tuesday praised the commitment and heroism of the Naval Force, an institution that celebrated its 43rd foundation anniversary.
Managua.- During a Monday night speech, Ortega stated the Nicaraguan Navy officers' sacrifice in fulfilling their missions.
“No one can imagine the meaning of these complex, difficult, risky jobs. People see the news that they captured a drug trafficker, saved a lost person, but nobody imagines their effort, sacrifice," Ortega said.
The Sandinista leader praised the spirit and sacrifice of Naval officers, who, among other missions, patrol the maritime territory recovered by Nicaragua after winning the lawsuit before the International Court of Justice in 2012.
On the other hand, Nicaraguan Army’s Naval Force Head, Rear Admiral Ángel Eugenio Fonseca said that during this year they completed some 3,610 missions with the navigation of 34,453 nautical miles. (PL)
