Warplanes opened fire this morning on the northern city of Gaza.

The Israeli Army bombed Gaza on Saturday, in violation of the existing ceasefire, and continued its strategy of demolishing Palestinian structures there, while the calls to reopen borders to alleviate the humanitarian crisis for its inhabitants increased.

Ramallah.- Arab television stations reported that warplanes opened fire this morning on the northern city of Gaza, the most populated in the coastal enclave.

War helicopters fired on the southern cities of Rafah and Khan Younis, which were also hit by fire from Israeli Navy ships.

Official figures state that since the ceasefire started on October 10, the Israeli Armed Forces have committed more than 870 violations, killing over 400 Palestinians and injuring 1,110 others.

Rafah Mayor Ahmed al-Soufi warned that the municipality is facing significant difficulties operating basic equipment, such as rainwater and garbage trucks.

He therefore called on the world to intervene urgently and immediately to provide fuel to Gaza and compel Israel to reopen borders. (PL)
