The vessel from El Socucho to La Boca began operating last July 2.

The transportation from the head municipality to the beaches of the province's north began on Tuesday, July 2.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Luis Enrique Arias Peña, director of the Empresa Provincial de Transporte de Pasajeros y Cargas Generales (Cardinal, in Spanish) said that the buses leave from 5:30 in the morning, from the inter-municipal terminal, from Tuesday to Sunday. The cost of the ticket is 99.00 pesos per person - round trip.

The director reaffirms that the route is to El Socucho, from where the crossing is assured in a boat at 20.00 pesos to La Boca.

The vessel was repaired and certified to provide services for two years, so its next repair will be in 2026. A second boat underwent repairs by a brigade from the Nuevitas shipyard. It should start operating once the arrangements for its certification are completed within some days.

Cardinal's director pointed out that the departures to the beach will depend on the amount of passengers and the availability of fuel. However, it is expected to protect this route during the two summer months.
