Las Tunas also participated in the revolutionary demonstrations that recalled, on August 5, the popular response to the counterrevolutionary disorders that occurred 27 years ago. At the same time, from the social media, residents shared the hashtag #VictoriaPopular (popular victory), evoking the moments in which the Historical Leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, with his mere presence thwarted the intentions of those who wanted to plunge the country into a chaos that would lead to foreign military intervention.
