The average yield is currently at 4.88 tons per hectare, higher than the national average, primarily of the Reforma variety, the most widely planted in the area. However, this year, the Viva 17 variety, which is more resistant to pests, was introduced, and the results are encouraging, exceeding 8 tons per hectare.

Indeed, production does not meet popular demand, but the grain is guaranteed for the Family Assistance System network and is also sold at the agricultural fair held every Saturday on the central A Street.
A peculiarity of the process is that 90 percent of the grain is used for seed and the other for consumption.
Now, it is imperative to work as quickly as possible on building a drying facility and expanding the mill's capacity, because farmers have to dry it on the roadside. This results in significant losses, and it is distressing to see the producers working in the blazing midday sun.
Therefore, it is increasingly necessary to implement local development projects that will allow this situation to be resolved promptly, as well as enabling the acquisition of new machinery to improve harvesting. It is also essential to continue urging producers to fulfill their commitments.
