Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez called on the people and productive forces this Saturday for national cohesion and the strengthening of the popular economic apparatus as a strategy of sovereign defense against imperial threats.
During a work session at the "5 de Marzo" Productive Commune, located in El Valle de Caracas, the vice president emphasized that, in the face of escalation by the U.S. government, the country must focus on self-sufficiency and joint work from the grassroots level.
“Faced with the threats and aggressions of the current U.S. government, Venezuela's response must be productive unity,” she emphasized, as quoted by several media outlets.
Rodríguez stated that while Washington is displaying one of the largest military deployments in the southern Caribbean in decades—including 16,000 Marines and even the world's largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald Ford—Venezuela has deployed “what had truly never been seen before”: a nationwide food logistics operation.
In the last five weeks of the year, she detailed, 158,000 tons of food were distributed across the territory to benefit five million families, adds Telesur.
This effort, she underscored, has been possible thanks to the organization of People's Power and the coordination of communal productive forces, which have guaranteed stability and supply amid the U.S. intention of a “naval blockade.”
Furthermore, the official highlighted that the South American country is advancing in productive growth, “leading economic growth in our region despite the harassment.”
Venezuela has recorded 18 consecutive quarters of growth since 2021. Likewise, by the close of 2025, the country's supply stands at 99.5%, while the national oil industry has grown 18.6% compared to 2024.
One indication of the boom in oil production is the milestone reached by Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) in December, when it achieved a daily production of 1,200,000 barrels of crude oil. (CubaSí)
