Donald Trump has ruled out ordering an operation to capture his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin. "I don't think that will be necessary," he declared on Friday when asked by a reporter if he would ever order such a mission.
"We have always had a great relationship with him," the U.S. President clarified.
In his recent interview with The New York Times, Trump expressed his confidence that Putin wants to reach an agreement to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
"I am firmly convinced that they would not invade again, or I wouldn't agree," he stated, expressing his willingness to participate in security guarantees for Kyiv. "I think he wants to make a deal," he said about the Russian leader.
When responding to a question about timelines for ending the conflict, Trump affirmed he has no concrete dates. "I just don't want to be in a position where I have to say that, because I have an obligation to see if I can save lives," he noted. "We are doing everything we can. I don't have a timetable," he concluded. (CubaSí)
