Venezuela's Acting President, Delcy Rodríguez, reported today that she held telephone conversations with her counterparts from Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva, from Colombia, Gustavo Petro, and from Spain, Pedro Sánchez.
The communication between the head of state and the presidents of Latin America and Europe took place in the context of "the grave criminal, illegal, and illegitimate aggression perpetrated against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela."
"I informed them in detail about the armed attacks against our territory, which caused the murder of more than a hundred civilians and military personnel, as well as about the serious violations of International Law, including the violation of the personal immunity of the Constitutional President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and of the First Lady and First Combatant, Cilia Flores," she said.
Rodríguez assured that during these exchanges, they reached a consensus on "the need to advance a broad bilateral cooperation agenda, based on respect for International Law, the sovereignty of States, and dialogue among peoples."
"I especially thanked President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the people of Brazil for their accompaniment and support given to Venezuela in the most critical moments following the aggression suffered," she noted.
Meanwhile, she reiterated to President Gustavo Petro "that Colombia and Venezuela are brotherly countries, committed to moving forward together to face and solve the problems that affect us in common, based on mutual respect and regional cooperation."
Likewise, she confirmed that, in conversation with the head of the Spanish government, Pedro Sánchez, she thanked him "for the brave stance of the Government of Spain in condemning the aggression against Venezuela and expressed our interest in working together on a broad bilateral agenda beneficial for both peoples and governments."
"I reaffirmed that Venezuela will continue to confront this aggression through diplomatic channels, faithful to the principles of Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace, as the only path for the defense of our sovereignty and the preservation of peace," she emphasized. (CubaSí)
