Santo Domingo.- La embajada de Cuba en Dominicana lamentó hoy la tragedia ocurrida en horas de la madrugada en una discoteca de esta capital, donde el colapso del techo del centro de recreación causó hasta el momento 27 muertos.

"La embajada de Cuba en la República Dominicana expresa sus más sentidas condolencias a familiares y amigos de las personas fallecidas por el desplome del techo de la discoteca Jet Set, en Santo Domingo, con saldo de decenas de fallecidos y más de 100 heridos, según medios de prensa", indicó la misión estatal.

El director del Centro de Operaciones de Emergencias, Juan Manuel Méndez, informó pasadas las 10:00, hora local, que aumentaron a 27 las víctimas mortales por el derrumbe del techo de la discoteca Jet Set, en la avenida Independencia, del Distrito Nacional.

Además, Méndez señaló en la Televisión Nacional que hasta el momento unas 134 personas han sido trasladadas a diferentes hospitales del Gran Santo Domingo.

Más temprano el presidente Luis Abinader visitó el lugar de la tragedia, donde aseguró que todos los recursos e instituciones de emergencia del Gobierno están a disposición para salvar vidas.
