Russia and Uzbekistan have made progress in implementing the road map for cooperation, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev affirmed on Monday at the beginning of talks with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
Tashkent.- We have a broad agenda in which we will go through all issues, as a 63-point road map has been signed for the first time, and I must explain that it is being implemented and there is progress, Mirziyoyev told reporters covering the meeting in Tashkent.
The Uzbek president stressed that the trade volume between Russia and Uzbekistan has grown by 30 percent this year, and the two states plan to reach a trading volume of 20 billion dollars.
“If we talk about the volume of trade, we have already reached ten billion dollars, and its growth is excellent. We work with our colleagues to reach 20 billion dollars shortly,” he noted.
Putin is on a State visit to Tashkent on May 26-27, his third trip abroad since he began his fifth term as Russia’s president on May 7. (PL)
