Las Tunas has more than four thousand nurses

Political, governmental and health authorities of Las Tunas saw off the 42 nursing graduates who will support in Havana the joint work of several organizations in the confrontation with the COVID-19.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Mirna Velázquez Cruz, Head of Nursing of the Provincial Health Directorate, told the Cuban News Agency that this is responding to the country's call to collaborate, due to the complicated epidemiological situation presented by the capital of all Cubans.

She assured that the nurses will remain as long as necessary, will participate in the inquiry tasks to detect possible positive cases, or will be integrated into the Secondary Health Care, according to the needs of the municipalities of that western territory.

Velázquez Cruz highlighted the motivation with which the people of Las Tunas stepped forward to collaborate in Havana, because helping in the recovery of that urban massif, which exceeds two million inhabitants, is vital on the road to normality.

During the period of confrontation with the COVID-19, these Health professionals are the first to leave the territory to another province, but 122 Nursing graduates supported the fight against the pandemic in 19 nations.
