Banks reduce services and adapt schedules

The Banking System announced on Thursday the reduction of several of its services since the community transmission phase of the COVID-19 was declared.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The Credit and Commerce Bank (BANDEC) specified that it will limit the opening hours to the public from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm in all branches. The entity urged its clients to use electronic channels for their banking operations and payment of services, the Remote Banking, Transfermóvil, and EnZona applications, as well as the network of ATMs and POS.

The Popular Savings Bank (BPA) reported that since Monday, July 5, the reception and processing of applications for construction materials loans have been suspended until further notice; also the processing of homeownership titles and the issuance of certifications of savings account balances for people who travel abroad. Likewise, nor applications and delivery of magnetic cards, or physical verifications of the credits granted, will be attended to.

The BPA added that, from the aforementioned date, its hours of operations will be from Monday to Friday from 8:00 in the morning to 12:00 at noon; although the branches that receive deposits from state units, if necessary, will only open to carry out this operation.

Finally, legal entities that have Remote Banking services are encouraged to carry out as many operations as possible in this way.
